Google Search Console
Swetrix offers a seamless integration with Google Search Console (GSC), powering the dedicated SEO dashboard within your project. This integration bridges the gap between Search Intent (what users are looking for) and On-site Behavior (how they interact with your site).
Why connect Google Search Console?
By connecting GSC, you unlock a full SEO analytics tab in your project dashboard:
- Performance Overview: Track Clicks, Impressions, Average CTR, and Average Position over time with period-over-period comparisons.
- Search Queries & Top Pages: See which queries drive traffic and which pages rank best, with detailed metrics for each.
- Branded vs Non-branded Traffic: Understand how much of your search traffic comes from brand-related queries.
- SEO Quadrant Analysis: Visualize your queries by position vs CTR to identify optimisation opportunities.
- Search Engine & AI Referrals: See which search engines and AI tools send visitors to your site.
- Geo & Device Breakdown: Understand search performance by country and device type.
- Privacy-Focused: View all of this alongside your privacy-friendly analytics in a unified interface.
How to Set Up
Prerequisites
You must have a Google Search Console account with your website property already verified.
-
Navigate to Project Settings: Open your project dashboard and click on the Settings tab in the navigation menu.
-
Go to Integrations: Select the Integrations tab from the sidebar menu.
-
Connect Google Account: Locate the Google Search Console card and click the Connect button. You will be redirected to Google to authorize Swetrix to access your Search Console data.
Note: We only request read-only access to view your verified sites and search analytics data.
-
Select Your Property: Once authenticated, you will be redirected back to the settings page. You will see your linked Google email address.
Select the correct Website Property (domain) from the dropdown menu that corresponds to your Swetrix project.
-
Save: Click the Save button to finalize the connection.
Viewing Search Data
Once connected, your search data will automatically populate in the dedicated SEO tab of your project dashboard.
- Open your project.
- Click the SEO tab in the project navigation.
You will see a full SEO dashboard with performance metrics, trend charts, search queries, top pages, and more.
Configuring Brand Keywords
Swetrix automatically classifies your search queries as branded or non-branded traffic based on your project name and website URL. You can customise this by setting explicit brand keywords:
- Go to your project Settings > General.
- Find the Brand keywords field.
- Enter comma-separated keywords (e.g.,
swetrix, swetrix analytics).
Queries containing any of these keywords will be classified as branded traffic in your SEO dashboard.
